Jose Garcia-Betancourt, MECE, PE

Senior Material Lab Engineer/QA-QC Engineer

For more than 12 years, Eng. Garcia has been involved in Quality Control and Quality Assurance projects. He started his career as an Engineering Technician at a smaller Geotechnical and Materials Testing firm. He ultimately became Laboratory Manager and Junior Geotechnical Engineer and worked on several municipal, industrial and residential projects.

Upon completion of his first degree, he started working at Jaca & Sierra Engineering, PSC as the Senior Materials Laboratory Engineer and is the primary liaison at Jaca & Sierra for ongoing construction projects. He provides technical support from a geotechnical and construction materials perspective for several industries which include but are not limited to maritime ports, airfields, government, residential, commercial as well as industrial and pharmaceutical projects. In addition to the previously mentioned items, García is responsible for coordination of the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Structural Survey division as well as data interpretation. As previously mentioned, he is the managing engineer of our geotechnical, concrete and materials laboratory as well as assist with our continuing education program for technical personnel.
